Information sharing initiatives are proven to be effective in achieving a nationally secure cyber space, whether industry-based, cross industry, or internationally. But putting together an information sharing program is not necessarily a simple job, and as such the governments of many developing countries are still not putting such initiatives into practice.
In this article we will explore the importance of information sharing as a national security objective, with a focus on Information Sharing and Analysis Centres (ISACs) as a strong tool that can be employed by governments to undertake this. Finally, we will give advice to governments on how to approach the implementation of such an initiative.
