BM2Solar secures €2 million to scale solar storage solutions with backing from Axon and Inclimo

BM2Solar, a company specialising in integrated energy storage solutions for solar power plants, has successfully closed a €2 million Series A funding round. The round was led by Axon Partners Group through its Next Technology Ventures fund, a vehicle focused on the energy transition and backed by Ventures EPM, with participation from Inclimo Climate Tech.

BM2Solar offers an innovative model centred on the direct installation of batteries within solar plants operated by Independent Power Producers (IPPs). This approach shortens permitting timelines, enhances scalability, and improves returns. Powered by artificial intelligence, its platform monitors energy markets in real time, identifying the most attractive opportunities for both investors and IPPs.

With a pipeline of 60 MW in ready-to-build (RTB) status and experience across multiple BESS projects, BM2Solar expects to mobilise over €100 million in energy storage investment over the next 12 months.

At Axon, we believe energy storage is the key enabler of the next phase in the energy transition. In this context, BM2Solar stands out for its innovative vision, strong technical capabilities, and pragmatic approach to hybridising existing plants´, said Chema Guillamot, Head of Deep Tech and the Next Technology Ventures fund at Axon Partners Group. `Their model not only improves profitability for IPPs and unlocks new opportunities for infrastructure investors, but also has the potential to reshape Europe’s energy system into one that is more flexible, resilient, and sustainable.
