Francisco Velázquez has recently been appointed as a board member of the European Commission’s European Innovation Council (EIC).
The EIC is the European Commission’s innovation programme with a budget of over €10 billion. Its aim is to identify, develop, and scale up disruptive technologies and breakthrough innovations in the European Union.
The EIC Board consists of Commissioners and other independent members from the European innovation ecosystem. Independent members include leading researchers, policy makers, ecosystem builders or entrepreneurs, such as Francisco, who are elected in their personal capacity for a two-year term.
Francisco is the founder and Chairman of Axon Partners Group [BME: APG], a global investment and consulting firm in the innovation and technology sector. With a background in engineering and investments in over 70 technology companies across Europe, the Americas, Israel, and India, Francisco has a strong track record in technology advisory and is uniquely positioned to help further build Europe’s innovation ecosystem.
