Odders secures backing from CaixaBank and Axon to lead the future of smart glasses in Europe

Seville-based XR company Odders, a pioneer in the development of virtual reality (VR) games and applications, has secured the backing of CaixaBank’s DayOne and Axon Partners Group through the investment vehicle Axon Desarrollo Andalucía to support its new strategic focus on smart glasses and augmented reality (AR).

The collaboration between the three organisations will drive the development of innovative solutions and products in the smart glasses space, a sector expected to experience exponential growth in the coming years. This strategic alliance will not only accelerate innovation but also consolidate Odders’ leadership in the augmented reality market, leveraging the potential of a technology set to transform industries such as entertainment, sport & fitness, and workplace productivity.

We were pioneers in the virtual reality industry, and we are now investing in smart glasses and augmented reality — technologies that will define the future. With the support of CaixaBank’s DayOne and Axon Partners Group, we are taking confident steps towards becoming a European leader in this space, said Ana Molina, CEO of Odders.

We are delighted to be partnering with Odders. We admire the leadership and vision of its founders — Ana Molina, Fernando García, Juan José Flores and Jaime Pichardo — and the work they are already doing in Andalusia to take augmented reality to the next level. Together, we will accelerate solutions with real impact for professionals and society, achieving milestones that we are convinced will mark a turning point, added Macarena González, Head of Investments for Axon in Andalusia.

Since its founding, Odders has stood out for its innovation, agility and commitment to cutting-edge technologies, creating internationally acclaimed VR experiences. With six launches in six years and a presence on all major XR platforms, the company is today one of the most experienced players in the extended reality sector. This new strategic direction strengthens its pioneering role in the industry.

With over 1 million copies sold and more than 7 million workouts completed globally, Odders will continue to push innovation forward with this new business line, focusing on augmented reality, smart glasses, and fitness.

Odders’ expertise is strengthened by direct collaborations with significant technology and entertainment players, including Meta, Bytedance (parent company of TikTok) and Google. Its products are available across all the leading platforms — Apple, Meta, PlayStation, Steam, PICO and, very soon, Google — making it one of just three companies worldwide to have launched products on every major XR platform.
